The class system is a fucking joke; everyone is either a DPS, a DPS with high health, a healer, or Symmetra. Also, Blizzard can't balance the game worth a single shit.

Two problems with Overwatch that made me quit at level 100 (wanted to quit around 80 but 100 was just too close).

If you are going purely off of K/A/D, what if your Genji is getting behind enemy lines and picking off healers, torb / symmetry turrets, and constantly distracting the enemy? Clearly his K's will be a lot lower, and there isn't going to be a valid metric visible to show if he's doing good or not because even if you measure it by "damage dealt" he could have just been sinking damage into shields or doing nothing of impact

Statistical analysis is crazy hard and in a game with very few variables (counter strike), it's easy to measure things based solely on KAD since the only thing that matters is killing the enemy and rounds won...

The primary objective is to kill the entire enemy team, even the retards. Secondly cs has a significantly lower ttk than overwatch and significantly less means of mitigating damage so distracting the enemy team for even 1/4 of a second can give your team a chance to mop them up. In overwatch pushing an objective is mostly about killing the defenders at a rate quicker than they can regroup on said objective

No the point is that because the games have different objectives and gameplay, both of which are far more reductive and based on the simple premise of "kill them before they kill you" basic KAD scorecards are valid metrics.

They mean a lot less in Overwatch - like this line, for example:

Is 100% incorrect, because you don't have to kill them at a faster rate. You just have to kill them at a "faster rate" - or wipe them in one shot, or bypass them and divide their attention, or etc etc enough to hit the objective.

Or, more simply, you only really have to kill them "once" and prevent them from stopping you.

This changes per objective, obviously, but the point is because there is so much data, there is so much analysis

If you want a good idea about how this shit is useless, Rainbow Six Siege is a good example. It has a KAD score card, but it's ultimately useless in telling you exactly who is contributing the most crucially (except for the fact in R6 someone can Ace rounds and carry a team through raw killing power) - When they released the complete metrics for the game, the data they included is as follows:

>character pick rate
>character kill, death, assist, damage done, rate
>this data relative to teammate pick rates
>this data relative to enemy pick rates
>data relative to map, objective, game type, and ranking, etc etc etc

and one example they give is how the worst character in the game (Tachanka) has a VERY interesting statistical anomaly in a very specific situation

Lmao this game is a joke. I used to defend it in 2016 saying "give it time". but I've grown to hate Blizzard and Overwatch over the course of 2017. They don't know how to do anything, and even admitted to balancing it based on quickplay and low tier statistics, instead of high / pro level statistics.

I like Overwatch and I'm glad I picked it up before /v/ started hating on it. Even though dive comp sucks (and I'm a D.Va main) I still manage to have some fun everyday. Especially when I'm playing with my brother and my friends.

Nah, Reaper's recent buff has made the game more fun than ever since dive has become the norm.

You seem to misunderstood me. I didn't say kill them at a faster rate. I said at a rate faster than they can regroup on the objective. A team wipe is the ultimate form of this. After which you keep them from regrouping at the objective by picking them off around it.

I bought Overwatch during the anniversary. The game's not that bad.
My only problem is the lack of more content. Why does Blizzard think it's ok to shit out little content once in a while? Or why even remove some arcade modes only to put them back later? Couldn't the game modes stay?
I honestly don't like Blizzard's thought process. It's only loot boxes. Obviously the game needs real balancing but the wrong heroes get buffs or nerfs.

I think even thought I have 400 something hours ingame I still hated most of it. Games just is so straightforwarded and stale. Like lets do the classic comparison to TF2. I get it, in TF2 most of the players are kids/terrible and do not seem to be self consciouss about what they're doing. But atleast in it you get to feel how YOU are doing something. In Overwatch its just hurr same hero combos that feel so unrewarding to play. Like I can go play TF2 right now and get 20 killstreak without someone watching my ass but in Overwatch?.. Trying to do something alone? Forget it. Stale choke camping with your butt buddies is all there is.

I enjoyed OW since release, I played aim based heroes and was high elo master/GM and games were quite fun.
But you have a point OP, every change they did made the game worse.

I can no longer play widowmaker, mcree, the only thing I can play is tracer.

As I read the latest PTR patch notes i saw they made the strongest ult in the game, zarya grav, even stronger, it now prevents all movement based abilities like a junkrat trap.

This is now a tracer nerf and if zarya joins the dive meta with doomfist combo it will be the final nail in the coffin for this game.
So I will probably uninstall soon too.

Most annoying ult in the game, and the majority of Mercy one tricks are playing way above where they should be. Yes, it's a problem when someone in plat (or even gold/silver) ends up in GM by abusing the character with the least amount of mechanical/positional skill in the game (with a negative winrate on top of everything else).
