6 is best, fite me. 2 gets away with shit cause it was the first one, three brings alot of shit into the series but the archers are retardedly strong . Four is too easy with Kingdom mode being a horrible mode for replay value and five is three without the novelty of the new shit being new, also has the worst new characters of all the games.

Six at least tried something new and tried to make the stages feel bigger and the characters more unique from each other.

I just want them to make the ai less shitty in the future. Worst thing about 8 was how you had to babysit every fucking officer on your side. You don't get to feel like an officer fighting among equals when your stuck being the savior of everyone on the battlefield. They need to bring back formations for the fodder too. I wish i could like Musou, i really do :(

I played a Dynasty Warriors game way back, i don't know which one but i had a lot of fun. But now just looking at footage of them makes me snooze. Maybe if there was actual strategy involved in the big fights, since there isn't in the combat, instead of just rushing from officer to officer. I remember when i played i did it on the high difficulties and tried to kill every single thing on the map, it would take hours some times.

This is exactly where it went wrong.
No matter what level design you have in DW/SW, its still the same gameplay of pressing the same two buttons over and over again.
6 tried to give some sense of openness which ultimately failed. Because you're still doing the same thing, only now while running around like a headless chicken in empty maps.
7&8 and their linearity was much welcome and helped the gameplay tremendously by focusing on event after event, and allowing itself to be more creative with level design.

I like 4 because of CAW, bodyguards, and being able to go through the story with your custom characters. The game has a really unique feeling that I don't get from later DWs, even if they're better on a technical level. I think it's because 4's stages were more open-ended and let you explore a bit more, which I prefer over the modern games that are extremely objective-oriented.

I've never played 2, 3, or 5 though, so maybe 5 is better, idk.

This is what everyone always says about these games. I just don't find them engaging at all which is where i get enjoyment from. The core combat will probably never change but i think all the rest is so much wasted potential, they could do a lot of cool strategy shit with what they already have.

It makes me sad because i want to get in on the fun that everyone has with the characters and stuff. Back then i mainly played the blue eye patch guy because he had a cool sword and looked like Big Boss lol. I basically don't know anything about the characters and three kingdoms either, besides Lu Bu since he's basically a meme.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say best girl is that brown amazon that's TOTALLY not only Asian but Chinese.
