Dark Rose Valkyrie
had to lose an hour of progress because of the fucking interview system
because you have to advance the plot to see if your interview was successful (you got stuff) or not and you need many successful interviews for the true ending
Fate Grand Order - trying to bum rush the Rome chapter to see if I can get the 30 quartz needed for another chance at a x10 Gil roll
I played some Axiom Verge this morning and it's pretty good so far, I love the colors and gameplay for the most part but the story is pretty lame. Not that the story is really that important.
Then I played some Rogue because it's been sitting on my desktop staring at me for a while and after giving it a shot I definitely see how it inspired a ton of other games after it. As a true autist, the complex and enormous control scheme that uses the entire keyboard made me happy and it feels a lot more complex and therefor more satisfying when you start to get that hang of it. It's pretty fucking hard though and hopefully soon I'll get past the learning curve and start figuring out more of the mechanics.
And to finish the day, I played VA-11 Hall-A. I beat it 5 minutes ago in fact and while I will say the gameplay was extremely shallow and repetitive, the main focus of the game, which is it's characters, is handled with grace. The important characters were really well fleshed out and it really felt like there were some emotional stakes in the story. The gameplay is really just there to make sure that you're engaged throughout the story and to help facilitate a feeling of personal connection with Jill.
Anyone have any thoughts?
