I'm a fucking enormous vidya addict and i hang out with a few other people who are not too far off from that, and all the parties we went to were always vidya-free aside from ONE instance where the hostess set up guitar hero and a few of us played, which eventually devolved into people watching me play expert guitar for a few songs (everyone else was on medium and had never seen someone play well on expert IRL). all told the TV was on for maybe an hour.
