As stated if you specifically want something like above mentioned than how is it a bad game.
There is almost no alternative. Other than sims i guess but that game is made to be somewhat realistic not cartoony.

all you do is collect trash to sell to buy furniture, repeat the same dialogues "I'm feeling so good today!" "bring me 5 apples and I'll give you a random piece of furniture", and finally, minigames with shit gameplay involving shooting balloons on the top screen with a slingshot

they could start by making fun jobs into the game like No More Heroes 1 and 2 have, but they couldn't even put that into the game
