Every time I get Battle in the Big Keep in roulette I'm reminded of how cancerous the playerbase is. The new player ALWAYS gets locked out of the second half, and asking people to wipe or wait just causes them to bitch about it taking "longer". I had a Titan Hard roulette last night that was the stupidest shit I've seen in this game. After wiping once, about half the party fell off the cliff nearly immediately, including the other healer and the tank. We somehow finished it, but it took a good chunk of time, too many close calls to a complete wipe, and a DPS, who had been ignored, being revived at the last minute. It didn't help that apparently the servers were being hit with a DDOS at the time.

I'm partially to blame for wiping the first time, I blanked on the exploding bomb mechanic. As did the other healer apparently, because he died to the same thing before I did.

MH combat is good at least because there's multiple weapons with different skills to make use of from gear.

Dark Souls combat is complete ass. Move sets are incredibly limited, only few weapons are actually viable, and the game just encourages you to circlestrafe around your opponent because that's the most efficient way to win.

Neo Exdeath is already going to be in Savage V4.

Kefka won't appear because if he was going to appear in some way, it would have been in the Warring Triad plotline.

They are not going to bring in villains who are too tied to the characters and plot of their own game, like Sephiroth or Jecht.

The Emperor or Ultimecia are good bets since their games are under-represented in XIV so far and it would be easy to build a raid tier around them since they both have their own iconic lair similar to the Dimension Castle from FFV full of native bosses to choose from.

Another FFV tier is also possible, likely featuring Gilgamesh and Necrophobe, the boss he teams up with Bartz & co to defeat. Bartz himself might be the final boss considering that foreshadowing about heroes.

Also, the most powerful FF villain is without a doubt Bhunivelze from XIII-3. Plenty of villains have gone all I AM A GOD NOW, but that guy really WAS a god in the biblical sense, and unlike Sephiroth, his "destroy the solar system" attack was 100% real and irreversible.

They can't alter the skills, but they can alter the effects and the numbers. A lot of what's wrong with SCH right now is the horrid mp management when it comes to their signature spells adlo and succor, and how most of their kit just doesn't synergize well. They could decrease cooldowns on ET and indom, they could increase the chance you get that 10s advance for aetherflow, they could make lustrate and indom into ogcd spells like empyreal arrow is a weaponskill to let them benefit from healing magic buffs.

Started playing FFXIV about a month ago. Been playing DRG and PLD and recently picked up AST and DRK because I just got to Heavensward.
I think I mostly have the hang of DRG, PLD, and DRK, the latter two seeming to be pretty similar, but I'm not sure if I'm being a good healer as AST. Any tips so I don't embarrass myself too much?

I'd disagree, you can skate by and un-death someone in your story like once and even that's not great writing, better if it happens off-screen. When it happens more than once every single apparent death is called into question from then out. by the time you are actually sure someone died for real you are already de-invested.

Overusing death has the same problem in the opposite direction, you avoid getting attatched to characters because they may die at any time, but I dont think that harms the story as much as not knowing if a plot point like death is going to stick or not.

Most of the un-deaths are broadly telegraphed, so you know well in advance that the characters aren't really dead. The best example being the Scions at the end of 2.5. No one believed for a second that any of them were really dead.

That's a separate problem (because why even bother "killing" someone when everyone knows from the start that they're not actually dead?) but it does help to mitigate the issue of not believing actual deaths.

I never thought that Moenbryda, Haurchefaunt or Ysayle were going to come back, because their deaths were framed in the narrative as being real. I did think for a bit that Papalymo would come back, until they slammed it into my head over and over that he was really dead.

Not to mention the job quest story is literally 100% recycled content.
The new character is a scaled down marberry, and the two main duties are just portions of amdapor keep HM and lost city HM with the EXACT SAME enemy placements. Even the final boss is lost city HM's final boss with exactly one new mechanic and everything else left the same.
Scholar definitely got shafted big time.

Somehow I remembered this cutscene while finishing the MSQ, that quest taking place after the battle of the bridge where you have to scour the remnants of the battlefield to slaughter the hidden survivors. The contrast between the "You sense a desperate presence" every time you find garleans, and the lighthearted victory fanfare and cheery characters when finishing the quest was really uncanny.
