Because they think it's all about Frank being wacky in an area filled with insane people when it's more about wandering around a big area trying to survive against both humans and zombies alike with items you scrounge from stores and enemies, unraveling a mystery as shit hits the fan, and there just happen to be comical items you can use on top of normal items. Hell, look at their damage control going from 3 to 4, they thought the reason people disliked 3 was because it was too dark and wasn't wacky enough when that's just a byproduct of all the stuff you could use.

can I play Dead Rising 1 on Steam without having to update windows?

Is Dead Rising 3 even worth playing? I loved DR1 and still enjoyed DR2.

Also is the "Nightmare" mode for DR3 basically the same as playing DR1 or 2? It says something along the lines of having limited time.

I thought DR3 was kind of OK and had some decent portions. Problem is, it goes on and on and the last parts become more tedious than anything. Its worth a try if you get it cheap.

Don't bother with the DLC though. It is short, pointless, and glitchy and not as good as the main campaign.

To sum it up, Dead rising 3 and 4 and some portion of 2 is nothing like the original because it was sold to Canadians and the original developer is not there.

Play 3 with self-imposed restrictions to level-ups and no Weapon Lockers to make it feel more like Classic DR.

It's actually really fun once you combine that with how smoothly it controls.
