The only things worth experiencing are DLCs. Vanilla game is a rushed unfinished mess made on a budget. World is pretty, but all quests are samey and not really fun. Only good quests are Baron's in main plotline.
HoS is hard 8+/10, it's filled with interesting characters and the story is focused.
B&W steps on the same rakes as main game in terms of spreading content thin across a giant area that is pretty, but not really interesting to explore. But production values are two steps ahead of Bioware grade shit that is in vanilla game, and just like HoS it feels focused due to all content taking place in the same area.

Yes. I am playing the game right now and so far i have found pretty detailed secondary quests.

The contracts are kind of repetitive at times but if you go on the right level they offer some degree of challenge. Some escort missions are fun too (which is something i can´t say about most RPGs) and some potentially change the world little by little.

As for the battle system is the most fun i´ve had with one since Dragon´s Dogma. the whole oils/ potions and investigation really pays off and some times is the difference between dying or winning.

I myself just fought a cockatrice and if i had not read about it´s weakneses and what to use i would have died. It was pretty fun.

it would be 10/10 if it had good combat and good rpg elements and character progression.
