Why can't /v/ keep it's machine cool?

In Speccy threads almost half of the people got their system running at much higher temps than they should.

I don't even live in a cold place, it's pretty warm here but my ventilation system is somewhat decent

I haven't changed my thermal paste in 6 years and idle at 40. By the time it shits out I'll buy a new rig.
