Just draw them on paper, however shit they may look. If you're not retarded, once you've drawn them you'll immediately notice what's wrong and how things are supposed to look. Eventually you'll start correcting those issues as you continue to draw more and one day you'll have become much better than you are today.

It's annoying to say this but sitting there thinking you can't do something because you're shit now doesn't mean you'll never be good if you do try. Go grab that pencil and paper anon, you don't need to let people see your art but if you want critique and advice there's plenty of great artists out there who make tutorials to help guide you into making something that looks like it would belong in a game

Lose the "idea's guy" mentality and just create something that's already been done before. In fact I think mimicking a game's mechanics and style is a great idea to get started, especially if you don't have ideas of your own. There are plenty of devs in the industry who just get told "do this please because I'm an ideas guy" due to not having a good imagination and still churn out pretty decent stuff.

You'll eventually pick up your creativity/talent through learning how other people create their games, regardless of how terrible you think it may be. There are so many unimaginative devs out there that get paid for their work, there's no reason to think you'll be one of those in the future as long as you remember why you want to make video games.

I said all of that to you because that's how it was with me. You'll never get anywhere with complaining about how bad you are when you've had zero to barely any practice. Forget stick figures, draw something from reference. I started with Posemaniacs, Google it.

Try drawing those, they don't have to be perfect but you'll start to learn and understand how anatomy works. Your brain will pick up on how it all looks immediately but that's only part of it. You need to wire your brain to get your hands to draw what you see rather than just understanding how it looks. This part is what makes people give up because they expect that just because they can see an image that they should be able to draw it without any practice.

As an artist and/or animator you should never look at something someone else has done and think "Damn, I'm shit and they're better than me... How can I ever compete?" You can't, it's that simple. It's not a competition to see who's better, it's a joint effort and all artists are doing their own thing, inspiring other artists and helping those see their own flaws through the art they see then improving on that.

Take Minus8 for example, you must be aware of him by now. He's good at drawing, you can tell from his more serious attempts at drawing Princess Peach and his animations might look a bit messy at times but he's really talented at that too - The Rhythm Heaven flash is an example of that.

His biggest flaw isn't his art, it isn't his animation, it's his thought process when it comes to other peoples art. He dleetes his tumblr account on a weekly basis because he sees someone can draw something better than him or someone says "lol u suk kek"

Do you want to be that kind of guy? Lose that "I'm not good and everyone is better than me mentality" because it's true right now, but a year from now? You might be having people say that same thing about you, feeling envious or jealous of your work.

Then you can probably go on to what I do and try to help inspire other people into not giving up so they too can feel what it's like to make progress

Instead of making a grid you could set up some invisible nodes (with colliders with isTrigger) and use their positions instead. Search for Waypoints tutorials for Unity.

When you move the joystick, you do a raycast from your player to the direction you moved (translating the raw axis to the direction). If the raycast hit a node, you move the player towards that node until it reaches the position and it stops.

This not only failed because their game was shit, but also because they tried to court the fetish fatfuckers and teased them with a character that was not fat at all.

Like, seriously they advertised on imageboards dedicated to fucking obese chicks. Not only is that retarded, they only revealed an actual obese chick as a playable character in a donation incentive that was ridiculously high way too late into the funding period. It's also hilarious how they simultaneously tried to market to tumblr by calling their fetish designs "progressive". All in all it was a pretty hilarious clusterfuck and the game deservedly crashed and burned despite support from a bunch of "popular" fetish artists.

Yeah, the artist of the second one really tried to play up how much of a reverse-trap I was describing the biker chick to be, so that could explain the two face designs. (One slightly more feminine than the other.)

The first one is the art-style I would try to do if I were making a game, mainly because cell-shading is a technique I feel looks good and can b used to either hide graphical flaws or make optical illusions like in Killer 7.

What's really strange is I can write up movesets and describe what a character could do, but don't have the talent to actually draw a rough of the action itself... Yet...

Definitely start drawing out the action arc in simplest terms first. Just a stick man doing a kick/punch/throw what ever you're trying to do. Also use references when doing so. Once you get planning out an action arc down pat, then you can focus on adding the character's features. Much later you can start on planning the flow of things like hair, clothes and other flowing objects throughout the sequence.

Really? Your computer can't run Blender? It's very light weight, so is Wings3D (but I wouldn't recommend Wings desu).

With my crap laptop I can run Blender + emission shaders (for visualization purposes), and if you use Blender Internal (for cartoony style stuff) it's quite fast compared to Cycles
