"Then how did you post it?" is much more natural.

I've never thought about why or when the distinction between 'post' and 'posted' occurs before desu.

I think it has something to do with it being a direct question but iunno, English is an annoying language.

It's because you already conjugate do into the past tenste (did), so you don't have to conjugate the post because the tense you used was the past simple
