Fighting games are built on 20+ years of exploits and mistakes.
Every time players figured out you could glitch out the game engine, it would get a name and become an intentional feature in future games.
Some games would let you get away with stupid shit by allowing the controller to press LEFT and RIGHT simultaneously so much that these controllers are now banned and many players swore by these controllers and they dropped out of specific tournaments for this reason.

Even melee is guilty of this shit, top players quitting tournaments because their controller isn't malfunctioning correctly.
