On your first clear you get new portraits for the characters.

I think gives you access to the rooms in the back of the inn and either it or 8 adds a special event that shows what happened to Coco in the Bottomless pit, if you let him get eaten by the shadow vortex instead of fighting the shadow giants Here's a legit spoiler for it: Coco survived and popped out the other side.
Also, certain items get carried over, the best being the Cherubim's Grasp, the strongest weapon in the game (best used by Bianca). And your money and stances carry over. Otherwise your inventory and stats start over.

Probably a bad idea to go for the Griffith's Ash on only the second playthrough, the Green Dragon is the hardest boss in the game and the staff itself is not even as good as the Infinity Branch, which is much easier to get (alternatively the Cursed Warclub works well).
Cherubims Grasp isn't hard, set up a water shield next time and then activate Fire dominance and nuke him, repeat until you get the drop.
Bianca is the only "prime" user of it as she is the only character that shares both L-Sword and Fire proficiency. Meurs and Bianca are the best characters also.
Anyway I'm just really hoping that TAA gets localized considering how apparently big it is.

Bravely Second. I'm losing alot of motivation to play though, the writing in this is way too jokey and the jobs are weirdly spread out. Making more "advanced" classes available earlier than the basic ones is fucking annoying. Shit like getting Summoner/Red Mage before Black and White Mage, and having to choose one class over the other in subquests is terrible.

rxtools worked perfectly until 11.2 and at that time rxtools was long abandoned and luma was (and still is) king and nintendo has done nothing to directly stop it.

If you played the original DS 7th Dragon, it's actually a continuation from there and makes more sense. At the last floor of the final dragonsbane labyrinth awaits the Broodmother ND, progenitor of the dragonsbane and the dragons that engulfed the planet. Defeat her and she promises to return in a different form, in another time. Guess who.

anyone know how to fix this?

I started playind DQ VII a few days ago and the game is really enjoyable but does the combat ever evolve from simply throw normal attack over and over?

The hero has a few supportive spells but as far as offense goes he does nothing but normal attack. I have the dog boy too and he has a lot of skills which I thought was great at first but they all just deal less damage than his boomerang so I end up doing normal attacks with him as well.
