Am I the only one who really couldn't bring themselves to like the graphics? On max (outside the extreme settings toggle or whatever it is), everything was a blurry, high saturated mess. The colours were just too much and really killed a lot of my potential immersion, not to mention the world just looked messy, somehow.

only thing that looked good in this game were the spells. The effects and impact were amazing.

Everything else about the game is pure, unfiltered garbage. There was no incentive to work with others (as a matter of fact it was a detriment at the start, with the pure grind in small grinding zones.). The gather system was fucked and the mod controlled market made the merchant aspect of the game no exsistant. You didnt actually craft anything usable. Tried to make my usually mmo spell caster alchemist, and found out I couldnt make anything good, and had to hire people to do it and sell it.

I was the sucker who fell for the day one jew scam. I have not played since then. Has it gotten better?

I've been playing BDO since launch and love the game, but I really can't disagree with any of the complaints OP made. It's refreshing to see someone who can articulate their issues with the game beyond "muh p2w"

BDO is more of a simulator than a proper MMO. As such, if you play to immerse yourself in a beautiful, well developed open world, you'll have a great time. If you play to be the best, you'll run into the same issues OP listed and find yourself frustrated at how hard it is to stay combat relevant.

These screens are of the default Filmic setting, but if they're too contrast-y for your taste you can modify the preset in options. I felt the same way as you about the graphics until I started messing around with the photo filters

If you would stop rushing around and actually pay attention to what the NPC's are saying, you'd notice the lore is actually pretty complex. The attention to detail is also impressive, for example NPC's from different parts of the world having different accents to match where they're from. I feel completely justified in saying that BDO is one of the more immersive MMO's.

Tibia was actually my first MMO then switched to Ragnarok when it came out then to wow. Those were the days. not like they are now where going online and operating a computer is so simplistic the most retarded fucking child could do it and ruin everything.

I don't really understand the appeal to this game. My brother has been playing TOR for a while now and he really likes it but it seems like so much effort to keep up. He had to get a new phone to control the desktop from his phone so he could feed his workers or train his horses or something while he was at work.

I've never played it so obviously I don't know, first-hand, what the appeal is. Is it cause it's "realistic" (no warpstones, travelling everywhere by drifting horse)?
