>Hasn't taken over Vidya

Did the Jews forget about video games?
>>
There's no point in spending more than necessary for a crappy licensed game (which the overwhelming majority of capeshit games were), so they exist they're just all on phones.
>>
>>383699768
Maybe not traditional console vidya but they are making a shitload of money out of mobile games.
Now they are going back to AAA gaming too.
But 2bh with you my dumb phoneposter I just want another game like web of shadows or wolverine origins
>>
>>383699768
Not the same medium and we have CoD, Battlefield and Sony movies.
>>
They moved to smartphones. I'm still waiting for a good Iron Man vidya.
>>
I don't understand you people. There are plenty of good movies out, and you complain about comic book movies that are obviously trying to appeal to as many people as possible using the least about of effort? Its the same case here with video games, and even music. When you only pay attention to the radio, of course you won't find anything else but easily consumed slop.
>>
Just seems like untapped potential. Doesn't have to be licensed movie shit. Can be original.

I honestly thought we would've had them releasing a new capeshit game each year from different studios like COD.
>>

>>
>>383700183
I noticed it quite a bit in Spider Man Homecoming.

And by noticed I mean it was blatantly obvious, especially when Will Smiths daughter said that she doesn't want to look at or celebrate the Washington monument because it was built by slaves.
>>
>>383699768
they are using the SJW strategies for vidya
>>
>>383700726
1. That's not his daughter
2. SJW shit has always been in comics. It's new to vidya, but it's always been in comics. Token minorities, progressivism, and liberalism were always there from the outset. It's less subtle now but still.

Wonder Woman was okay, it has serious issues in the 3rd act. It practically borders on non-sensical when she finally meets Ares.

Honestly, I'm surprised it was as solid as it was, the rest of the DCEU was a trainwreck and Gadot can't act.

Vidya went through it's capeshit phase years ago. Since 2008 it's been annual military FPS central, keeping that war machine churning.
Eventually cinema will catch up and start making good war films again, despite based-Mel's efforts to make a mockery of the genre.

Token minorities/minorities for the sake of it always existed

Black Panther is literally WE WUZ the superhero and existed since 1966. Monica Rambeau was Captain Marvel during the 80's. Robbie Robertson only existed to have a black character in Spider-Man. Wyatt Wingfoot only existed to have a Native American character in Fantastic Four, both in the 60's or 70's. War Machine/Rhodes was in the 80's/90's. I remember it was a part of the cartoon show where spiderman was transported into space and had to choose a certain number of heroes to help him in a fight (3 I think) and I remember he chose Storm as one of them.

I somehow remember a chess theme being attached to it, like spiderman being the king and he had to choose the other pieces but that might be wrong.

If you want an honest answer, and aren't just trying to make a shit thread, here we go. I've got a lot of friends in various parts of the entertainment industry, and it's simple.

It all comes down to the parent companies. Disney for Marvel, and WB for DC. And it all comes down to money.

With movies, it's really easy for a comic book movie to turn a profit. All of the development is done from the top down, with corporate suits in charge of everything, and it's very easy to shoehorn in all the marketing and publicity stuff that they need to make it build the universe. Disney and WB can plan out 20 movies in advance and expect them all to work, and even if the movie sucks, people will still see them to see the tie ins to the other films.

But with video games, it's way, way harder. First of all, Disney has no real competent in-house studio for game development, so they have to sell out the license. And they HATE splitting up the licensing, after everything with the films. So instead, they're looking to whatever Publisher can promise them some creative control, as well as a history of profits.

This is why even though EA fucking sucks at making good games, they continue to get reupped for the sole rights to Star Wars games. Because they promise to make a shitload of money, and deliver every time. Same thing with the new Spider-Man game. Sony, who has some claim to Spider-Man, is taking the full brunt of publishing it.

They see video games purely by numbers and dollar signs. That's why they focus more on freemium and mobile games. Marvel Heroes may suck dick, but it's far more profitable to make a million dollar game that will make one hundred times that back than a 60 million dollar game that will make the same amount.

That said, WB does own competent game developers. So that's why they don't mind making shit like Injustice or the Arkham series.
>>
It's actually rampant as fuck on mobile.

That's where all the jew-ry is. Kike microtransactions.
>>
>>383699848
Why are licensed games crappy?
>>
>>383703637
but thats not how shes ever worked, she was even 'stronger' when she first left themyscira because she didnt realise she had to hold back a lot of her strength. the movie from comic consistency is even worse than most comic writer to writer consistency

If you think a movie can only be good based on its effects, maybe you should watch Transformers instead.

Its legitimately the closest feeling to actual Spider-man comics that has ever been done in a movie. Spider-man 2 is still my favorite Spider-man movie and favorite capeshit overall, but Homecoming really nailed the feeling of the Lee/Romita comics.
>>
>>383705202
>Capeshit only means it came from a comic.
No it doesn't.
It refers to the same stale Marvel/DC products designed by committee for the lowest common denominator.
If it takes risks or tries to do something genuinely different, it's not capeshit.
>>
>>383705328

Marvel is letting based Taika do whatever the fuck he wants. The trailer looks on point and Thor/Hulk tag team is gonna lead to some great bants.

And Homecoming really was good. It felt fresh despite being the second Spider Man reboot and being in the MCU. My only complaints are that the movie kinda ruined it's best moment with a Tony Stark voice over and that it needed more high school scenes. But other than that it was great. Doesn't beat Spider man 2, but it doesn't need to.

Because the movie is actually pretty good and they did their homework for the little tidbits and references they put. It's surprisingly not lazy considering that it's Sony and other Marvel movies are also lazy.

Iron Man 1 WAS a massive risk. Marvel would have likely bankrupted themselves if it flopped. Marvel Studios was literally an independent company when they released it.

Nah, it's actually pretty good. They weren't kidding about John Hughes influences. It had some issues, but overall its probably the second best Spidey movie and top tier MCU.

No. It's just that Marvel Studios is competent while Marvel Entertainment is an endless comedy of errors. I'm amazed over and over again that the Netflix shows turned out somewhat watchable by some miracle.

IM1 was the catalyst for capeshit, but the fact that others followed the formula doesn't mean it was capeshit itself.
GoTG isn't either, despite /tv/ REEEEing over it.

Avengers, however, is the epitome of capeshit. It was designed from the bottom up to be pandering garbage, from the plot to the general dialogue. The fact that it was a financial risk doesn't change that. Risk is something like Logan, where you risk alienating the retards that want to see Wolverine as an unstoppable badass, or people who liked the other related films and may hate to see the state the timeline was in.

I love the revisionist history that Blade and X-men were some massive hits that weren't trying to strongly distance themselves from the source by insulting the comics and draping themselves in black leather.

Spider-man was the first movie arguably since Superman 1 that wasn't afraid to be colorful and truthful to the comics. Not only that, but it completely destroyed movie records and its the reason why comics started to dominate the cinema.

whether you are using the SJW opinion as a positive or negative basis, it's still giving them too much credence. besides, the SJW way is to complain no matter what, because it's not good enough. it'll never be good enough until there are only enough males around to produce enough children to sustain the population, and any problems that arise from eliminating the majority of the male population will still be due to patriarchal artifacts

Whedon was simultaneously given way too much freedom but then reigned in after things were already in motion.

Did you know he wanted to put Ultron in the first Avengers movie WITH Loki? Look at all the stuff he crammed into AoU.

>Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver
>Ultron's creation without having Hank Pym
>Wakanda and Vibranium being established to make Ultron upgrade
>Whedon wanted there to be more PoC and varied powers too, so everyone's sidekicks were brought in too
>he also wanted to greatly expand Hawkeye's character because he was the only one that wasn't really established
>Marvel forcing in those nightmare sequences to hype up future films

Like its too much on both sides. I have way more faith in the Russos than I ever did with Whedon, especially after Civil War, but who knows how Infinity War is really going to go.

There are somethings about it that really bothered me, like Peter's motivation being about impressing Tony vs actual responsibility. I didn't like how Ned only existed for exposition. >>383709285
Disney themselves doesn't give a single shit about Tron
>>
>>383709389
>like Peter's motivation being about impressing Tony vs actual responsibility.
It makes sense though. This Spider man grew up in a world with super heroes, with IM being the biggest one, and then with Tony personally picking him up for Civil War it basically gave Peter delusions of grandeur and wanting more of that high. That's why at the end he declined Tony's offer to be an Avenger. And also because he already knows he has a responsibility with his powers, but he's still just a kid that's learning how this whole hero thing works.

And I felt that Aunt May finding out was supposed to be a reverse of Iron Man 1's ending. But they probably did it so they don't have to bother with it for Infinity War.

It wasn't SJW, but it was progressive and had tokenism.
There's a pushback now because Marvel is hiring writers that have no fucking clue what they're doing, hence making a progressive slant into cancerous soapbox.
Funnily enough, a significant part of it probably isn't intentional SJW shit; they're probably just doing what they think is normal in their own echo chambers and adding what they believe to be subtle progressive hints.
The biggest sign of a hack is the inability to separate themselves from their writing, and that fits most of current Marvel writers to a T

/tv/ has a normalfag problem.
They're obsessed with getting cyber credibility on an anonymous image board, so they parrot what they think will make them fit in.
Sort of like /v/, but with less people who actually experienced the product to correct them.
It's probably easiest to imagine them treating all mainstream films like /v/ treats bioware, but with only a sliver of the justification.

They also have a crippling issue of blaming everything on everyone else. It's always either reddit, /v/, /pol/, /co/, /sp/ etc. They will never improve so long as they keep doing this. it's also why their shitpost and meme threads are so prevalent; people just want places where they don't have to be some pretentious faggot with delusions of granduer to fit in

Best part about her statement on the Washington monument is there is no evidence, but it is played off as fact.

It is doubtful slaves built the monument due to the skill required to actually build it. Now they may have gathered the stone, but among those gathering stone were the Chinese and Irish as well, since working in a quarry was dangerous and the Irish were seen as expendable since they were not property. But you know doesn't fit the narrative.

/tv/ can have good threads. The formula is for it to;
1) Be well known for a decent amount of people to know it and talk about it
2) Have a slight barrier to entry, such as being old/foreign etc, so that shitposters won't know enough about it to properly shitpost
3) have a quality that makes it something you can go back to again and again.

The Thing, Alien/s, The Mist, IT and Star Wars Legends threads tend to follow this example pretty well. Legends is particularly good, since enough of it is shit that shitposters end up accidentally agreeing with the consensus, and any derail can be put back on form by starting a Karen Traviss hate train.

I just don't think they're trying, I remember playing a fun Iron Man game a few years ago but it seems they're investing in smartphones most of all, understandable considering the huge normalfag audience that cape films have. I fucking hate smartphone gaming.

It was surprisingly a pretty good film, definitely exceeded my expectations minus the shitty final boss, it's way better than the previous DCEU blunders. Gadot was better than I expected too and had good chemistry with Pine. Justice League will be fucking Garbage though.

You can have a good thread going for almost anything as long as you put some effort into making the OP that provokes discussion, but unfortunately 90% of posters on there are in the TV/Random mindset so your thread probably won't last long because they'd have to make more than a 1 sentence reply, they'll always avoid threads that don't present an us v them mentality for an opportunity to get (You)'s in other threads.

That iron man game was garbage. The only good superhero game was spiderman 2. wolverine's revenge and the first arkham game were decent too.

But it isn't true at all. It would have been sort of true if she said "Slaves may have gathered the stone used in the monument" But the stone gathered would have been used for many other things, and just coincidentally was used to build the monument. I just think it was misleading because the guard didn't say "she is not really right at all" he conveyed she is sort of right, which is wrong. Just bothered me as a fan of history, there is plenty of fucked up shit in American history with slaves, but this is not one of them.

Valve, Bethesda and Nintendo do a good job on cinematics.

Single player games are dying stories don't really matter anymore. Ascreed and warcraft already had their stay.

A lot of games are already inspired by movies anyways. So there's no point on making a story that's derivative of another movie that directly inspired by games.

Challenging enough, the vast majority of people enjoy the gameplay (sorry), I agree about the stealth since the only reason you ever actually utilize it is when there are enemies with firearms, at least the stories they told that revolved around Joker were decent, i couldnt care less about the "world" as long as there are goons for me to pulverize.

The movies are definitely a contributor to the success of the games, but that's not to say they're not good on their own. I can't prove an opinion "wrong", sorry.

I bet if the game was japanese, you would praise the fuck of it, because that's what happen with easy japanese games like Zelda or FF. Fucking double standards. I came to this thread to get mad at this inevitable post, and i wasn't dissapointed. Fuck you for hating my favorite game series.

Anyone else actually excited for ps4 spiderman? Even if it has shitty arkham combat?

>responding just to say nothing
I've literally never seen actual criticism about their movies that weren't either "muh quick cuts" or the same three frames from the airport scene.

Good job outting yourself as a /tv/fag.

Cap and Bucky are executed so well and have a great relationship, and it has a good amount of light-heartedness and absurdity without going into quip territory.
>>
>>383709703
It's possibly the only superhero movie which actually revolves around real life problems, with all the constant surveillance and control over personal information

I was so happy to see him giving cheesy PSA's on television in Homecoming. He's such a goody-two-shoes boy scout yet he makes it look cool.

I enjoy them but they're really more of a 6 out of 10 if you aren't a big Batman fan.

>hurrrr only huge weebs could hate MY favorite game!

Eat a dick. Those games suck shit even compared to the bootleg, Shadow of Mordor.

Tomei was a terrible Aunt May. Funny how people like you don't give her shit because she happens to be pretty.
>>
>>383724741

I wasn't a big Batman fan until Arkham Asylum. I tought Batman was lame and Spider-Man was the shit (now i think the opposite), and i didn't saw the Nolan films until that (that goes for you again, fag >>383702752).

Yeah, nah, LEGO games are puzzle based, puzzles themself are pretty easy, but you still gotta remember what characters have what abilities and when to use them, 7 year old kid would have an easier time playing game where you just have to shoot stuff like COD or GTA

dude, its ok to enjoy kids media knowing its for kidsi love gravity falls; you dont have to pretend its difficult. i mean ffs, if you use the wrong character for a puzzle the right characters face flashes over your head. its a kids game, but im not afraid to admit that, or that its the best hero team game since mua 1.

Gamergate won. Games are diverse and empowered now. They don't need to bother anymore. Here on what should be the home of anti-gg sentiments all you get is "go back to /pol/".
