Why is Kingdom Hearts there?

Maybe because Kingdom Hearts is there and they thought completing it or whatever would get their hearts back, the nobodies built housing for themselves if that were to happen?

The castle never existed, that's why all the people who don't exist moved in.

How come Riku and Mickey get out of the shadow realm soon after and just fine after KH1, when Aqua's been stuck there forever? They had the Keyblade that unlocks the entire realm of darkness, and they only managed to get out through an obscure pathway leading to the basement of Castle Oblivion which is the same path that Aqua jumped into, making it unlikely she can use it to leave.

Also time doesn't function correctly in the realm of darkness. It's possible that by the time Sora and company bust her out, she will only have experienced a few weeks of being in there.
