Persona then:
>set in the real world
>the stakes are high with the entire world at stake
>the enemy is a fucking nazi mech army lead by Hitler himself
>characters die frequently, sometimes burned to a crisp
>buildings get blown the fuck up by terrorists using bombs
>no time for dating sim crap
Persona now:
>travel to a parallel dimension
>stakes? what stakes?
>who needs to save the day when you can go on a deito with your waifu?
What the fuck happened?

It's better to fight with friends who are as troubled as you are

I dont get how people condemn moviegames like uncharted but praise even worse moviegames like persona 5. 5 hours in and I've just started the actual dungeon crawling, which is boring and easy as shit. Does it get any better?

5's biggest flaw is that its three features, dungeons dating and story, are really poorly blended. You wind up with long, unbreakable stretches of each, and you get sick of it before the next one shows up.
Maybe Atlus will look at Western reception this time and fix their bad design.
I just want a fully fleshed out and voiced protag (preferably with a default name, too)
