>>
ugh! another one of these effin threads!!
>>
>>383647020
It's alright. It has a nice aesthetic, and for a walking sim it's a good length. The characters are actually really developed and pretty well-written, but the plot itself kinda falls apart at the end.
>>
It's alright. Some people don't like the characters, some do. It has some cool nods to Lovecraft.
>>
It's mediocre, and this is coming from someone who legitimately enjoyed Undertale. The story is rushed and inconsequential nonsense by the time it wraps up, the music is forgettable, and overall it just doesn't do anything that stands out. It isn't bad, it's just not really that good.
>>
>>383647020
Communist propaganda
>>
>>383647020
It's more a walking simulator then actual game. That being said the story was entertaining enough. Better than fucking undertale, that's for sure
>>
>>383647020
It's not like Undertale at all, which was a beautiful one-man project with great music and style.

It's.. okay. I couldn't get through it because I loathe Mae as a character. Whiny little bitch which doesn't grow up even despite a relatively healthy family background. But it could be worse.
>>
>>383647020
I haven't played it but SBH's video made me want to

Seems like a game about shitty despondent millennials for shitty despondent millennials, sounded up my alley but I was a poorfag when I saw the vid and I don't pirate anymore.

The characters are fairly "dude communism rocks, down with the system, weed and causal sex lmao", but other than that the game is pretty good. Also the characters are all early 20 something edgy bums living with their parents, so they at least fit the millennial part. And they don't shove it down your throat, just an eye roll every now, and then.

It's the Juno of video games and I thought for a while that Life is Strange was the Juno of video games.
>>
>>383647020
It's an even more obnoxious game than Gone Home, but at least it feels like some effort was put into it, even if it was wasted on a product that makes you want to kill yourselves.

Don't trust anybody who likes this game.
>>
>>383647020
Completely unrealistic "quirky" dialogue that makes the writing from Life is Strange seem totally normal. Pretty much all the characters are obnoxious besides the alligator, and the only reason she's bearable is because she's completely flat & doesn't speak like a middle schooler who spends all their time on tumblr. Since the cast is the only "interesting" thing about the game, it becomes a boring slog where you walk back and forth between the same environment 80% of the time

It's okay, but a large part of why it engaged so many people, I think, is because it does have heart, focus and passion and if somebody is making something they care about, then that tends to come through in the game itself and can make up for a lot of the poor design of the game, and Undertale does have more than its share poor design in it.

The game sucks and is a slog to play. The story and characters are entertaining, however. It's like trying to watch a movie, but having to hold down the play button on the remote the entire time. Also, the story takes a nosedive at a certain point and it's really stupid, Mae is a terrible fucking piece of shit millenial, and the characters can become grating after a while.

I don't get how your very deterministic first couple sentences help your argument made in the last sentence.

That said, I can only do what I desire and what I desire has never been up to me. Otherwise I'd just X out my desires for wasting time, avoiding social situations, succumbing to addiction but I can't. It doesn't work that way, a person without the desires and flaws that I have has lived a life with a different set of outside factors than what I've been dealt, they aren't these disembodied masters of life who just chose to be without vice.

Except they're not. Socialism is mentioned a couple of times and both from the gothic alligator. They're supposed to be dumb young adults with a teenager mentality, at least Gregg and the MC. Also weed never gets mentiones I think and the only time someone talks about sex is while telling an "embarassing story"
I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone, I hate it, but what you said is just false.

But in all seriousness this game is horrible, the plot (especially the ending) is just some of the worst writing i've ever seen in a video game, no exaggeration. Characters that are as deep as a puddle, boring as fuck "gameplay" (especially the fucking dream levels), and just a lazily written ending that is not satisfying in the slightest.

It seems to me the main cast have very specific personalities, Gregg and Mae are 16 year olds in the bodies of adults who have their lame inside jokes and think "crime" is cool, Angus is a fedora and Bea is the overly political cynical young adult that got its first job.
None of them give a DUDE WEED vibe at all. None of the minor characters either I think, though I cannot remember them all.

I've been raised to fear and shy away from the training, going-ons and actual on-field activity that military life entails. >>

You know, if NitW had an ending like that, I wouldn't loathe it as much. I'd still find the characters to be irredeemably annoying, but if it had some sobering shit about how all the weirdness was just in the MC's head and she was just coming to terms with growing up and facing reality for what it was, it would have been much better then some out of left field cult shenanigans.

Mae epitomizes the stereotypical millennial’s disconnection from traditional everyday toil, and the script of Night in the Woods pretends that working-class citizens would not call her out for mooching and breaking the law. In the story, Mae has returned to her hometown to live with her parents again after dropping out of college. From there, you guide Mae through a variety of self-absorbed, immoral activities that include tampering with crime evidence, shoplifting, and digging up the coffin of a boy, all with little or no consequence. Although the anthropomorphic cast of Night in the Woods gives the writers leeway to indulge in some cartoonish, unrealistic depictions, the story suggests the supporting characters have real-life concerns, especially pulling one’s own weight, that help the player suspend disbelief. Why, then, do these people — family members, friends, and hard workers — excuse, overlook, or laugh off Mae’s flagrantly selfish and stupid actions?

Just a fun fact: There's lots of dummied out shit, including dialogue, refering to the characters as animals etc. but at the time that one guy didn't know about furries, then found out about them and then dummied out all the references to animals. My question is how you couldn't know that they're a thing? Or is the tumblr circles so tight-knitted that they never see anything outside of them? Another thing to remember is that no matter how much they like the 90s, they still hate furries and mascot characters, despite mascot characters being staple of the era.
