It's exactly the same physics as the third game.
They just backported the refined version through the other two because it would have been wierd to adjust to different jumping physics in each game.
Unfortunatly they didn't change the levels at all to compensate so it's a little tougher to play.
Try gitting good, or alternatively just play the third game because it's exactly the same.
