Imagine a boss that's invincible until you collect enough points from hitting it to make it vulnerable.

But you can't hit it normally, it needs to be hit with magic, and when your MP is used up you need to wait a whole minute to use it again. You need to repeat this process 12 times IF you don't get hit even once in the arena that's very small in comparison to the boss.

The boss has a three second AoE attack 8/10ths the size of the arena that takes the points away from you, its immune to giving you points during this attack. It also does the attack up to four times in a row.

You need 900 points to make it vulnerable, it does not stay vulnerable, after a short period the whole process starts again.
