Can the GTX 970 still max everything out at 1080p? It's all I have left of my old PC from when my shitty EVGA PSU blew up and took most my parts with it. But I'm getting bored of my PS4 and thinking of getting back into PC gaymen forPU Battlegrounds. Should I just buy a new GPU as well or will I be good
I've got a 970 in my machine, had it for a couple years, and it runs all my games with impressive graphics at a healthy FPS. There are definitely better cards out there, but considering the crypto mess, prices on cards have yet to settle down. You'll max ALMOST everything at 1080p.

It couldn't even "max" every game from the year it released.
Unless your definition of "max" is less than max, in which case it can max settings at 1080p.
I only have $140
is the 1050 ti worth it, I don't think I can manage any other card

The 970 is better than the 1050Ti. It's closer in spec to the 1060.
So long as you're not doing MSAAx8 or something, you'll be fine.
I can play most new games such as rainbow 6 and the division at a combination of high, medium and a few maxed out settings but the division is pretty demanding, games that are well optimised like doom and Bf1 I can get maxed out and even have enough over head for 1440p 60fps

>my shitty EVGA PSU blew up and took most my parts with it
Do you know what the cause was?
