World was probably in development for longer than they knew about the Switch and it isn't easy to downscale such a huge project for it. Or the 4chan rumour that Sony paid for it to not come to Switch is true and Capcom shot themselves in the foot.

Doesn't matter too much though, Switch still gets their own MH games later on. Capcom is not going to let that mobile market go. It's just gambling now to try and get the western market on board.
