Every fighting game thinks they're going to be a competitive scene. The world would be better if the Mortal Kombats, Guilty Gears, and such would focus more on being good single player experiences for people who have an interest in fighting games.

The way you enforce a competitive scene is by already being wealthy enough to offer big prize pools to attract competitive teams.
