I know that Gearbox basically fucked this game over, but after watching Alien and Aliens back to back, I wanted to marathon Isolation and Colonial Marines to replicate the experience of both movies in the order that I watched them, and it turns out Colonial Marines was a pretty fun game. It was far from perfect, but I went in expecting garbage and just got an alright shooter with an M41A sound effect that made me cum buckets with every left click. The fact that I pirated it probably helped my enjoyment of it.
