Legitmately good question. Only argument I can think of is the convention is in Summer, has shit AC, or no excercise so they heat up faster than usual which brings more sweat.

bad hygiene happens at almost every single con. The only reason you only know about the video game ones is because that's where your hobbies lie. Hence why you'd have a better chance of hearing about it
