Honestly I would never say resub. BUT right now making a new alt is really quick.

They fixed all the Artifact power bullshit that made it annoying as fuck to make alts.

Pay 1000 order hall resource and you can give your alts max artifact knowledge.

And the legion invasions can get you a whole level in 10 minutes time from 100 to 110.

Right now I came back and just making a bunch of alts going through the order hall campaigns.

I honestly get bored of the game very quickly if I just stick to raiding. But making alts is lots of fun right now.

Vanilla is great because the game itself was second and the community was first, you needed to talk to people in order to normal quests because of the way mobs were positioned in the world, forcing you into very bad encounters, the feeling of inmersion also was pretty neat because of this.

Just be aware, as fun as the group aspect of vanilla is, the game takes time, too much time in fact, so I wouldn't recommend you playing it until you're free of responsabilities. If you don't have the time just play regular wow or any other decent mmo.

I re-subbed back in March and am still enjoying it. If you like the PVE side of things, only the legendaries and flying will take much grinding. You can get max Artifact Knowledge in almost no time, so unlocking all your traits won't take too long. I skipped all of WoD, but Legion is pretty good.

I got to rank 10 on a mage and a warrior. So I can use all the vanilla pvp weapons for transmog and the high warlord skins.

Getting those titles is almost impossible now since no one does ranked battlegrounds.

Cata launch was fine, but overall it was trash. The revamped Azeroth was fine for a while, but every other zone needed to be have jokes, memes, and references all throughout. The dungeons at release were fine, but got nerfed almost immediately. The raids in Cata were also trash, with Firelands being the only decent one. Now, the only thing Cata has done for the game was fuck up Azeroth, that's it's only legacy. I did like Vashj'ir though, but not enough for me to put it above WoD or Legion.

Not everyone will socialize, that's a given, but I got to know most of my wow friends from vanilla to woltk before looking for dungeon was introduced, I still talk to most of them to this day, wanna know how many times it happened from cata to legion? Once, in pandaland, my point is that by making everything more convenient and accessable they killed the sense of community, you can still make friends but when you take into account all what is left to socialize is the trade chat and guild you realize something core of the game was forgotten. Now the core elements of the game make it so the socializing aspect is entirely optional.

Ulduar was the only good thing about Wrath. ICC was average, and has a shitty ending. It also brought in the biggest cancer to raiding today, multiple difficulties. PvP was fucked for the first half with DKs and Rets. Trial and nuNaxx were complete garbage as well. I also didn't like the leveling but that's just me.

There were many flaws. But there was also unique gameplay and atmosphere that never existed again once the expansions started. Once you start digging into the points some of the higher functioning nostalgiafags are trying to make they have grounds to argue.

I'm just making a case for vanilla here, if you ask me what was the expansion I had more fun playing I'd say is wotlk, since I did raids and pvp, raids were cool and pvp was a step above vanilla and tbc, I don't mind playing alone or with just a couple of friends in legion, I'm just saying the community and the exploration aspect were the best parts of vanilla and the only reason to go back there, I had my fun, you're right about the first impressions and experience, its something that cannot be replicated and thats why a lot of people argue about vanilla being better, I could guarantee if blizz decided to introduce legacy servers the majority would go there and leave realizing its not for them anymore with only a nich population staying.

Boss mechanics were lenient because class mechanics were more diverse.

WOW has the trinity now, and thats all classes could do, tank, DPS, and heal.

Vanilla, classes had all the mechanics, because of that bosses had to be simpler.

Also vanilla bosses could actually kill you, you have to be stupid to die to modern WOW bosses since the developers design with DBM in mind.
