I love the Microprose Magic the Gathering game from 1997 (also known as Shandalar for some reason).
What other Turn Based/TCGs and RTwP Single Player games in any system/language have great unit/item/card variety and/or customization which encourages you to make combos, gimmicky builds, etc?
>>
maybe try the new pathfinder card game?
its free on mobiles and you can unlock everything with grinding, on steam its like 25 euros which is a bad price
>>

Faeria
Shardbound
>>
>>383510243
>>383510508

Does any of these have a single player campaign?
I hate grinding for hours for a 5 card booster pack, I'm after the customization after all and that severely limits that.

>>383510620
pathfinder is basically a single player ONLY game
you have those "stories" which are like rpg campaigns and you go through them sequentially while building up your character and their options and abilities (which are cards)
>>
>>383509763
Pathfinder Adventures looks pretty interesting. Haven't tried it though.

Will check it out though I doubt it'll be any better than the games I have on sight as of now (a japanese psp game that mixes srpg with ccg and Master of Magic).

I'd like to talk about any genre though, discussing games like FFT is fine too as long as they have good unit/skill/item variety and overall customization.

Also what about Etherlords? anyone played that?
>>

pathfinder is basically a DnD campaign using decks of cards, you earn cards during sessions, you leave them in your deck. You can gain allies, items, spells etc. But like i said its just like playing a normal DnD session using cards etc
>>
>>383511674
So it doesn't really lend itself too easily to customization and such I guess.
>>
>>383511674
How long are the campaigns?

Master of Magic is a well known game for pc and a cult classic also, if anyone has played it and can comment on how well it lends itself to trying out different builds that would be awesome, too.
>>

Are you me op? I love card games but just can't get into competitive online ones anymore. The meta always devolves into cancer.
>>
>>383512239
I've come to realize I like trying out my own builds more than anything and with competitive games you can't really play anything suboptimal most of the time plus getting a good collection going takes a TON of time and you're usually making a better investment spending your dust in competitive cards than in making your own gimmicky builds.I don't really give much of a fuck if the game is unbalanced.
Check some of the games I'm posting, you might enjoy them.

Vantage Master Portable though I think most of the units in this one are pretty vanilla in terms of abilities so not really stoked to play it plus I think the single player is lacking.

Geometry Duel.
Japan Only, don't know how good or bad it could be, only know that it's obscure.
