haven't played in years, feels the same except the jump button got swapped. not too sure on that, but if it is then I'm already used to it since my muscle memory was kinda vague which helped me adapt anyway. I tried handheld but I wouldn't recommend it for anything but comfy turf war in bed since it feels like it'd be hard to react to some things in ranked. not notably when you need to flick. I'll probably be using tabletop and joycon grip the most, the size of the joy con means you don't need to tilt as much making it more smooth and responsive imo. What are rhe best settings for sensitivity and that shit?

I'm all about gyro but I wish I had more freedom with it. With separate joycons you can aim with just your right hand, but I have to hold it an an awkward angle, at least compared to what I had imagined. ARMS uses that odd way of holding the joycons, why not give us similar options? Also BotW ruined my ability to use the correct jump button.

Overall it was alright. They're in Japan though, so don't expect too much. The netcode in Splatoon 1 is weird. Both players killing each other is really common, but it looks smooth enough. You'll be able to play against japs though, just expect trades. And don't stop moving when you kill them, it'll take a while to register they died on their screen.

I couldn't stand the gyro controls in the first game because moving the gamepad around was annoying as shit.
Gyro controls with split Joy-Con is absolutely sublime. It's pretty much like the Wiimote aiming in Metroid Prime Trilogy but you don't have to aim at the screen.
