Normally it's because of a patch or update that completely ruins the game

As someone with more than 7K hours in dota 2 i wouldn't recommend that shit to anyone.

Shitty community with shitty jew devs.

It's possible if someone played a game a lot in a relatively short space of time, and then it gets run into the ground via patches or shitty dev decisions. Most 1000 hour reviews highlight accurate stuff that the average reviewer wouldn't have time to notice.

I'm pretty sure it's only people who are at disgust on how much time they spent and they hate it now. I played thousands of hours into WoW in high school...that was a bad decision. If only it wasn't vanilla/bc I wouldn't have grinded so much

Why would I care about someone reviewing a game I already know and love? The only point of user reviews is checking whether I should buy a game

Generally you have to ask why someone would review something without completing it unless technical issues are the reason

Halfway through reviewing I can understand to an extent if it's really so horrible but you'll almost always be missing crucial pieces. How can you communicate an experience you haven't fulfilled?

I can think of numerous reasons to do this:
1. Hate self, so don't care if game is shit, it's what one plays.
2. The game is good, but getting into it as a new player presents an extreme wall that is not worth hurdling over.
3. A patch made the game shit.
4. They no longer support the developers' beliefs and thus no longer support the game.
5. They're a Schizophrenic.
6. They hit the wrong button.
7. It was written by an anti-shill
