in nexon's defense, it didn't really get p2w until evan and DB released and required nx skill books. sure there were things like afk merchants and smegas, but you could still make do trading and looting wise. at the worst there was HP washing and the small HP return you got on that for the amount of money you'd have to spend made people not give a shit about if you were washed or not for boss runs.
