that depends on your tastes in the end.
To me a good game has Good graphics and a specific artistic style. Strong game play with tight controls and good response time. Story is adventurous and doesn't turn into a visual novel like you pic related, while going in and out of gameplay smoothly. Half Life 2 did that really well.

They all have a bunch of gameplay mechanics that are all meaningful and connected. Visually they can be quite different from each other and the soundtrack is always tailormade for the game.

No, I don't, since tons of those games still exist. I play Persona for the spectacle, and the story, writing, and characters too. Also, Demon Fusion is the realest RPG mechanic there is.
