Worst of the modern Tales of games. Still okay though. If you still have interest and get Berseria, you are in for a much better experience.

One note though, Tales of games are at their best in NG+ on hardest difficulties. You might also want to try some self-imposed challenges if you are into that.

This one has some pretty shitty combat that almost nobody likes

Honestly the only thing about the game that isn't complete shit.
Combat sucks ass, crafting is annoying, characters outside those are either bland or is a plot hole by existing, story doesn't make much sense, and the world feels empty most of the time. By those two feels so right for each other. Maybe not worth playing just for that but I enjoyed it.
