Has Inafune (and I guess Comcept in general) gone silent after MN9 and Recore flopped? I never hear anything from that front anymore.

He vanished, then re-appeared when Level 5 bought Comcept. He and Akihiro Hino gave a joint interview to announce it.

He hasn't done any conventions since 2016, and seems to be avoiding the spotlight. Maybe he's being more humble, or maybe he doesn't have anything to promote.

Even not that far ago as 2014, he was worshiped as a superstar.

Inafune did not have character design credits for those games. Recore he's "Exec Producer", and MN9 he's "Conceptor" and contributed one design for a contest.

Takuya Aizu left Capcom and formed Inti-Creates in 1996. Inti Creates is still strong after 21 years.

Keiji Inafune left Capcom and formed Comcept, Intercept, and Ding in 2010. By 2017, just 7 years, all companies were dead. Comcept only survived by the generous help of a friend to buy them out cheap.
