You're going to have a hard time; Furi is a tough game to top. The only recent game I know of is Titan Souls, which is good but doesn't come anywhere near to what Furi managed to pull off. If you're interested, I did a review on it.

Punch Out for both NES and Wii are extremely good, and are strong contenders against Furi for this genre. If you haven't played them, I highly recommend that you do. I've never played the SNES one but I hear it's also a good entry in the franchise.

I loved No More Heroes 1 and 2 and I really want to agree with you but it's important to note that those games have a ridiculous amount of filler inbetween the boss fights. I don't feel like it belongs in the same category as games like Furi, which had pretty minimal downtime between bosses. They're still worth playing as the bosses definitely take all the focus and are the highlights of the game, but it wouldn't be fair to call it a boss rush game either.

The original Nier has some pretty memorable bosses and does the bullet hell/third-person action mix too. Combat is a bit lacking though. As for OST, well, it's fucking Nier.
