Of course I'm exaggerating a little, but it's fucking lame seeing the drawn out neutral game in Smash 4. I'm not crazy, right? There are so many moments when players live through attacks that should've killed them and then they just slowly float back to the stage and the other player is baiting air dodges and fishing for grabs/smash attacks when they land.

Last tournament I've seen was CEO2016 and matchs where a player switches to Pacman got me excited, but then the match itself was a complete disappointment because no one could convert ANY move into something that could kill the opponent or at least set up some kind of follow-up. The match went on for so damn long with boring neutral game.

It's gotten to the point where the characters don't even excite me because all matches seem like they play the same.

There's been 9 different winners of Smash 4 Nationals this year alone, and we're only half way through the year. You're thinking of 2015's Smash 4, when it was basically just Zero and Nairo, with an occasional Ally upset. Finals characters this year alone has consisted of 1/3 of the cast, or a little under 20 characters.

Games should not be made to be more entertaining being watched then played. Regardless of what the """"""competitive scene"""""" may think about this statement or what they think it implies.

For example, if that was the case, Bayonetta would have never been nerfed, simply because her air game and combat of flying around wombo combo'ing the other character is 100% more entertaining for people to watch in Smash 4 then "two people run around dodging each other until they get a grab to do their cookie cutter combo they repeat over and over the whole game". But this would result in everyone playing Bayonetta. But also result in only the best players of her winning the most. Smash 4 fans have enough sense to see this as a bad thing. Meanwhile however, Fox in melee gets constantly defended as needing skill, yet everyone uses him, constantly gets called out for being the obvious strongest character, as the player that says he isn't usually is someone that picks him the most, and of course the most obvious answer that sums up why its a flaw and not a feature: "I just play the character with the best skill set. You can't help one of the characters being the strongest" Meanwhile in Smash 4, all the characters get nerfed to hell until the top tiers are nearly entirely equal at this point, discounting player skill levels. Mewtwo actually turning out good. Shit heels like woo haa, neutral manipulation Sheik, and sky god Bayo getting the nerfs that they deserve. I can't stand mirror Foxes, just like I can't stand mirror Bayo's, Sheik's, or Diddy's, and I don't understand how anybody else can.
