It just keeps getting worse.

REEEEEEEE
I just wanted a spiritual succesor to OoE, I just wanted a good succesor to Castlevania after LoS MoF/2 were the shitiest games ever (seriously, how can anyone outdo the shittiness of C64, not once, but twice?)...
>Tfw have never backed a kickstarter
Feels good.
Uh, isn't that just saying it would be fucking early access but in retail? What the shit?
You should've known it was going to be shit the moment they weren't using 2D sprites.
>>383446876
It means they'll launch the base game and the additional content later like every kickstarter ever.
L O L
>>383446537
So they are pulling a Shovel knight.
Where you get the base game shit before they start working on and releasing the stretch goal stuff.
Seems like standard kickstarter game procedure.
>Mighty No 9 shits the bed
>Capcom swoops in and releases Legacy Collection, puts X in the next MvC
>this shits the bed
>Konami funds one of the greatest vidya adaptations ever made
Really makes ya think.

This. I hesitate as a kneejerk, but I've seen this formula done well. If they promise the extra content is always free for buying the base game, then I'm fine with this.

Having flashbacks to Shantae. Still fucking waiting for Risky mode that was supposed to have been released with retail to begin with.
>>383447195
But the shit in Shovel Knight are stretch goals. None of that stuff was completed back in '14.

It could be interpreted that way, or maybe Iga means releasing stuff in some form of episodic way. He doesn't really explain what he means by "staggered model" besides releasing content in parts. How big will each part be? Will they charge for each individual part? etc.
>>383446537
I really hope that consideration turns into a "on second thought"
I mean they've been taking fan feedback into consideration, yeah?
Why not just be vocal in telling Koji it's a dumb idea?
Holy crap. Didn't they ask for $500,000 initially? Does that mean they would have delivered stick figures with 3 bosses if they didn't blow out their goals by over 10x.
>>383447426
Plague King and Specter knight were stretch goals.
They didn't start making those game modes until after Shovel knight released it's main game.
It same with Shantae and a few other games. Bloodstained seems to be going the same path from what the article in the link entails.
Feels good to never have fallen for the kikestarter meme. This shit ALWAYS goes wrong for video games, it's in the nature of development without a strict guiding hand. Something like clothing is a safe kickstarter because there's a defined, real end goal of a simple product; a game takes form in such a meandering way without publisher jew intervention that they frequently go wrong and way over time/budget. We correctly bitch about executive meddling for mass appeal, but they serve a real propose too.
>>383447501
No. It means that they are releasing what they were going to make with the initial 500k to start with. And the stretch goals are coming later. Like so many other kickstarter games.
And thus Kickstarter was still a mistake.

>Something like clothing is a safe kickstarter
HAHAHAHA no

Didn't shovel knight and few others do this?

Read the goddamn thread.
We know SK did it but we don't know if that's what Igarashi has in mind.
>>383448431
Just goes to show how bad kikestarter is
>>383448780
>but we don't know if that's what Igarashi has in mind.
>we don't know if that's what Igarashi has in mind
Did you read the thread because everyone is jumping to conclusions anyway.

The difference with bloodstained is the devs are all over the place.
There's supposed to be additional characters, right? As long as the game world and Miriam's story is complete when they ship it, I don't see much of a problem here.
I'm so fucking glad I didn't donate a single dollar
>Their devs need to learn UE first
One reason for this
