Yes. I almost quit several times in the first few hours and I'm glad I didn't

Movement and combat get progressively more fluid and satisfying as you unlock charms and spells
>game doesn't start with a "taste" of how gameplay feels later
>game doesn't start you with a gameplay mechanic that feels good right off the bat
What are some games that actually do this right?

It will get a little better and then plateau out for the middle of the game and dip a little at the end.
>>383426580
It does, but I think the "beginning" is so bad that it drags down the entire game. It takes a long time before you get all of the movement options that smooth out the game, but then you basically get them all at once. But that's like halfway into the game.

All that took me less time than how you first had to settle down your heavy breathing, then slowly pick every post with your greasy, shaking hand and think of your witty reply.

the game makes you feel stronger as you push on and its satisfying when you come back to older areas and youre basically ripping your way through while at first you kept distance and slowly moved along
>>383426580
You're the problem with this generation of gamers.
No game is allowed to actually build a tone or build it's gameplay up. I mean, how would it be meaningful at all for the player to be fast and powerful if they didn't first have to deal with being slower and weak?
