LITERALLY just run back past and climb onto the big skull thing that overlooks the circular thing. Then they can't even hit you with the waterjet and you can snipe them with headshots. Jump a little bit off (not off the edge, but "down" on the skull) and get in 1-2 hits, then run back up and repeat. It's not that hard famicom.

Pic is what I expect from a similarly lit situation. Silhouettes of entities like the playable character and foreground objects should pop from the fog and rain filled environment. Not blend in.

For volumetric lighting yes. The game's stylization is an even stronger case for clear lighting as it's fucking cel shaded and the art has vibrant colors that pop. Not the final game's shit lighting engine desaturating everything out.

I just find no reason to fight in this game, normal or not. When hitting enemies depltes your weapon durability that you cant even repair, common sense says to pick up weapons and never use them unless gated by an enemy to advance, aka the bosses in the divine beasts, and then ganon himself.

Knocking weapons out of an enemy's hand implies fighting them. Also, good luck knocking out a lynel's weapon.

Armor upgrades affect things other than just fighting. Set bonuses can affect run speed, stamina, etc.

Monster parts can also be sold for rupees or mon to acquire stuff, complete quests, etc. You can also fight things for, you know, fun. I don't really understand this mindset that you need to be rewarded for absolutely everything, or if not, you need to be forced to do it. If that's how you view a game, I don't understand why you would even play it. It means there's no fun involved, and you're only doing it because the game tries to reward you with meaningless trash.

The fights are not fun in this game. Zelda was never about fun fighting. In past zeldas, you only fought cause either an enemy was bothering you as you try to solve a puzzle or you needed to defeat a number of them to open up to the next room. In Botw, there's no reason to fight. The combat system isn't fun nor does it have depth.

I'm loving the Master Mode. I used to be worried about black enemies but now I'm taking them on with weak armor and sometimes no shield. It's pretty fun. I also like that enemies one-shot Link now. It makes things more dangerous.

My first vanilla playthrough sounds exactly like this, but then again I did venture to the west, through Gerudo Valley, right after getting out of the Plateau.

Didn't even meet a single NPC, nor find a single Rupee, before some 20h into the game. And I only had the worn clothes + what ever I could loot, together with 4 hearts.
