Act 4 is good for nostalgia but they ruined it instantly by having the place swarmed with the worst enemy in the game, the small geckos. At least you get to pilot REX.

Act 5 has 5 minutes of gameplay. 5 minutes. Then it's a fucking corridor, followed by the cringiest cutscene in the history of mankind.

Then.. WE BROUGHT BIG BOSS BACK TO LIFE....JUST TO KILL HIM OFF IN A FEW MINUTES LMAO.

The shift in tone is extremely tangible. It was Fukushima who elevated the series. Since MGS4 the game has only been thriving on it's large, and more and more autistic fanbase and the hype of the media. MGS 4 was terrible, PW was absolutely terrible and i'm ashamed of those who hold it in merit. And MGS V was also terrible.

What this guy is currently doing?
I would like to see a game fully written by him.

The main gripes I hear from it:

I only played PO for a few minutes and PW felt totally watered down. I think the PSP version had very shitty controls or something. Playing it on the HD versions felt like I was playing on an easy mode. I still find it fun to play, but I can see why a lot of people might not like the gameplay.

I felt the story was fine. The characters were likable enough. Kaz is an oddity, but acceptable.

The story is absolute cringeworthy stuff, really an embarrassment compared to the rest of the series. I don't buy the "MGS was always silly"-argument, MGS1, 2 and 3 are very decent thrillers, with great characters and many emotional moments. Peace Walker on the other side was, like MGS4, a clusterfuck of sillyness, almost not taking itself seriously. Only excuse for the gameplay is that it was originally a portable game, but the boss fights? No excuses there. It also introduced grinding into the series.
