NullDC actually. Made a friend on /v/ around 4 years ago due to our love of Skies of Arcadia, and told him how to emulate it.

He replayed the whole game and took screenshots and gifs as he went.

There was going to be a sequel you know. it was just constantly moved back in importance for Sega until Gen 6 was up, and Gen 7 was rolling out. All their work on the sequel was pretty much useless and they gave up on it.

It could still happen, but you'd need a miracle to make it as good as the original.

As happy as I'm sure many people would be to hear about a sequel for Skies of Arcadia, I really don't think it should have one.

It should remain as it is - a classic JRPG beloved by the fans for the grand sense of adventure.
Honestly, SoA is one of the extremely few things left from my youth that hasn't been bastardized, rebooted and raped for a profit.

I don't even want to think what could happen in the worst case scenario, which is the most likely one too with the current state of affairs in sega.

But you guys know, it's somewhat unrelated but, I recently played Persona 5 and it made me remember Skies of Arcadia a lot, not because they are in the same genre or anything like that, but because it made me realize how long it has been since I played a great game like SoA.

Last I checked Reiko Kodama still works for Sega, plus who knows who she could get back to work for the team by just saying "Hey, Sega said we're making a sequel to Skies" in a similar vein to how Yu Suzuki got back people for Shenmue 3.

It could work, but you'd need some luck for everything to work out well. I'd like to see a sequel regardless.

but he used Dolphin instead, and used Dolphin's freecam to see all the shit that was in the backgrounds during scenes

Infinitely more important though is that, unlike all the other characters with invisible or textureless underwear, Clara has fully detailed bloomers underneath her skirt

If/whenever an HD version surfaces, the one thing I don't see them bringing back is Pinta's Quest. The only way I could really see it being done is maybe with a companion app on your smart phone. It's possible, but I can't think of a whole lot of other games nowadays that support that.

Aside from that godawful moonstone mine, this game has some of the best designed dungeons I've seen in a JRPG. Every area had unique puzzle gimmicks and atmosphere, and they never seemed to overstay their welcome.

I didn't think the game had bad dungeons, it was just a horribly high encounter rate along with slow as shit battles. Didn't help I played the PAL version which was 50hz.
