I've been playing the Senran Kagura games as of lately, I expected the games to be terrible, but they're pretty alright.
I'm just missing Estival Versus now.
Yeah, they're like 6/10 mindless button mashers. Nothing great but they aren't awful either.

That, and the life and hometown gets you in, but they characters really do grow on you. It's understandable why people get upset that every character is cut down to one gag and want SK7 to go back to its roots of ninja things and characters we can care about, with varying levels of lewdness intertwined in everything.

After playing Burst and DC, I don't want either Gessen or New Hebijo to exist.
Hanzo and Old Hebijo/Crimson Squad's relationship and interactions are really entertaining and only those two being the focus is more enjoyable to see.
Too bad that timeline was scrapped.

I'm ok with them existing, some of their characters are decent. They should have either fucked off and had somewhere to go instead of being all buddy-buddy with everyone, and now feel obligated to share/compete with screentime. The lack of focus makes it hard to connect with anyone and brings down the series to the level of any other fapbait trash by taking away the one thing it had above the rest.
What I'm saying is, they should have continued to stick with Hanzo/crimson, and left them for character side stories or have their squad pop in for one or two relevant missions.

I feel sorta the same, I like some characters from new schools, but the focus is a mess in both versus games.
Hanzo's story mode in SV was garbage and Crimson Squad is a joke now.

SV is the one I haven't played yet. Is the story really that bad? I assumed it would be at least alright before the beach madness.

The Hanzo one was terrible, it was pretty much "i was just holding back lol x3".
Hebijo and Crimson Squad were good (final chapter of CS was pretty good), haven't played Gessen yet.
