This is going to trigger some people, but it's a Suda game, and it contributes to the atmosphere of you living in a fucking dead end town. The crappy open world with the boring music makes the assainations with the kickass music feel several times as exciting and it contributes to a general atmosphere of nothing really mattering.

If you're playing a Suda game for fun gameplay and that's it you're in the wrong fucking place, the dude is all about the art.

yeah but you either need to be able to map the wiimote controls to the mouse or something (which I wasn't able to do) or buy a sensor bar to use a wiimote + nunchuck with, because there was no way of playing the original with the classic controller

I thought that was automatic, like the stilo--->mouse emulation of the DS emu. Oh well, will probably spare some time and directly go with the ps3 version, thanks guys.

Suda is my favorite game developer. Its undreal how every game he makes is extremely atmospheric and charcaters are likeable. One of the few people who still care about atmosphere

iirc he didn't even have anything to do with it and was slapped on it just for sales.
There's some research someone done on that, look it up.


Killer 7 and no more heroes are really the only suda games you need to play, everything else is flawed or forgettable with only a few moments of glory sprinkled here and there that don't justify everything else.

But those 2 are a trip, beginning to end and the ride never stops.

I think Suda was only the executive producer for KiD, it's mistaken as one of his games because it involves themes from his previous games
You should go for the games he directed, the game most people start with is NMH, go with Killer7 and if you liked it, look up Flower,Sun and Rain and The Silver Case

Dolphin emulates wii with very little margin of error, but you'd need to find some way to get around the motion controls. It's one of the few games to do motion controls well, so it's worth the effort.
The ps3 version felt all-around worse than the original. The controls are far worse which must've taken effort considering how simple the game is, they cut some battles inside stages so they go by faster, and they removed a small section of the city and all the free-fight missions that occurred in them (which honestly didn't amount to much). Charging your katana uses the sixaxis motion detection and it feels godawful and is impossible to do quickly.
They added a few new free-fight missions in old locations, a few new jobs (one or two of which is entertaining and the rest which are just button mashing), as well as changing the visuals and locations for a specific job, they added achievements (which are mostly plot and collection related, except a few which involve specific parries which are nice), threw in some NMH2 bosses in a way that absolutely ruins the game's pacing if you decide to fight them, and added bump mapping to Travis's jackets and a new dress for sylvia in a cutscene. There's also a new, very easy mode in which most female characters get skimpier outfits.
The new rendering is hit or miss, with a lot of the exaggerated colors losing their punch throughout the game. I missed the absolute black shadows of the original, and think Killer is Dead used this new shiny style far better.

it's still a fine game, but I think you're missing out a bit if you never play the wii version.

I tried to configure the wii version and is stuck on this "swing the remote like the arrow" part for like last 30 minutes.
I configured every option for swing on both mouse and my controller and neither picks up or does anything when i press them.

It just doesn't work with swinging the remote, I give up
