Do you believe that reviews matter in the game industry? Personally, I make my own decisions and judgments on whether I will buy a game or whether the game sucks or not. What do you think?

I really don't care about reviews, since I usually only buy games I already know I want to buy.
The only time I'll check for reviews is if it's a smaller, cheap game I'm not familiar with - but even then it's just a quick glance at the score and the ups and downs.

Judging by the fact that a lot of people here NEED to have /v/'s approval before doing something, I'd say that most normalfags probably have a similar attitude towards critics. For movies, look at dumb RLM fanbabies

If a game looks interesting enough I'dpirateit. Then if I like it and can find a good deal I'd buy it on Steam.
Reviews should be more about 1. is the game mechanically sound i.e. not broken or annoying to play 2. what type of people would enjoy playing it

So botw fails on at least 2 of those and yet 3 still overrides it for most.
most games i play don't even get reviews

Only reviews I'll agree with are the ones on steam

Exactly, only brainlets read reviews from rainbow haired low test paid shills

They matter in terms of sales, but I disregard them usually.
It makes more sense to form your own opinions from experience (e.g. demos or gameplay videos) rather than relying on an amalgam of other people's to form yours or support it.
In addition, even if you use reviewers to gauge quality for some reason, they get less and less useful the more niche a game is.
I listen to /v/'s opinion
If /v/ likes it, it's shit
If /v/ hates it, it's good

Never listen to /v/. Most are neet faggots here. But it can be amusing based on the game. especially if its controversary.
My instinct usually leads towards games I enjoy
