Shit distribution. Comics are only sold in really niche hobby stores. Japs are also overloaded with local books its hard for foreign books to compete unless it's really big like Harry Potter. Foreign stuff are also expensive as fuck compared to local ones. Language barrier too.

I've seen comics in Tsutaya, MANDARAKE and in some normal book stores. Tsutaya Shibuya has a whole section just for western comics.
