The game looks and runs just fine. It absolutely does not need a remaster.
I do think it would be possible to improve it by remaking some levels, improving enemy AI, adjusting balance, adding a hard mode, adding more story stuff, areas, boss fights, etc. Maybe in 10 years or so they'll remake it but I don't think it makes sense to do now.

Is it just me or does DaS1 control like shit compared to 2 and 3, even with all the fixes? I can't bring myself to play it at all, whereas if I'm in the mood I'm fine replaying 2 and 3 without much issue.
