>Implying it wasn't the Platinum curse that doomed this title
It was still good.
If only Platinum had a precedence of bad games, then yes, that would be true.
>>383292873
Platinum has a record of being involved with games that don't sell all that well despite being really good.
That's what happened with Zero.
Platinum barely worked on this title. Don't blame them for Gyro Controls.
I mean fuck, the only reason another Star Fox game was even greenlight was because they wanted Gyro Controls.
>>383292985
Zero was a bad game and a terrible Starfox game.
>>383292783
>It was still good.
It really wasn't though
And now we'll never get a Kamiya Star Fox
Shut up Cody. Also, Treasure needs to make the next one.
>>383292783
Platinum had minimal involvement on the creative aspects of this title.
>>383293197
>Th gyro controls were bad
Casual.
>Zero was a bad game
Wrong.
It was the shiggy is old and senile curse.
Platinum wasn't the ones who pitched the idea of motion controls lack of online and another 64 rehash. Miyamoto's senile
>>383293350
Treasure needs to put out another Sin and Punishment, or more Nintendo exclusive games in general, really.
They would be a good fit for Star Fox, but I'm happy with Platinum.
Didn't Platinum just handle background stuff? It's Miyamoto's fault the gyro was such a piece of shit.

My Rosalina, you guys are such spergs. You always whine and cry about these things despite how blatantly untrue they are.
>Cody in charge of yelling wrong opinions at people
Shouldn't you be yelling at Twitter trannies for leaking games you insisted were fake?
>>383293857
Because Laura Kate Dale is such a reliable source of information...
Will 2016 be remember as one of Nintendo's worst years ever?
>>383294061
All those games were great. So no.
Also it's not like there was any competition from other developers.
>>383292783
Even not counting how Gyro aiming complicated gameplay, Zero was still bad title.
Barely any true alternate paths - the ones unlocked after beating the Story are lazy throw ins. Which includes the same "Protect Great Fox" bonus level twice.
Every boss was in All-Range mode - when people like Star Fox for the on-rails portions.
Gyrocopter was boring and unneeded when Chicken Walker exists - the fact a bonus level was to replay the Gyrocopter dedicated level as an Arwing made it seem like even the devs knew that.
The on-rail portions also felt too easy or short. There are way less enemies or lasers to dodge than their were in SF64.
>>383294050
You still cried out that Mario + Rabbids was fake.
>>383294296
What was Nintendo's worst year, in your opinion?
>the Switch is doing so well that Cody has to cling to past failures because there's nothing else to shitpost about
kinda sad
>>383294698
Probably a Gamecube year... I'm not too fond of that era of Nintendo titles.
>>383294061
it's a lot worse when you see what came out in 2015
>Splatoon
>Mario Maker
>XCX
>Woolly World
how did they take such a nosedive?
>>383294061
As one of /v/'s resident WiiU autists, yes, yes it was, minus that TMS came out in 2016.
All 3 of those games are terrible and Cody has literally the worst tastes in video games out of everybody on this board.
>>383294761
He even started shitting on good games out of desperation.
>>383294915
They gave up on the Wii U and were preparing for the Switch. Why do you think nothing from their main teams came out during 2016?
>>383294915
>how did they take such a nosedive?
This greedy jew ended production on anything not 90%+ completed
The whole reason Platinum was approached in the first place to do the assets for Zero (and pretty much JUST the art assets, so anyone who thinks they had a hand in gameplay design can go fuck off) was because of the Star Fox Easter egg in Bayonetta 2, which was such a loving nod to the series it literally looked and played better than Zero itself.
When your minutes-long tribute is better than a full-fledged first party game, that really says a lot. Nintendo should have given FULL control to Plat, story and all, and kept Miyamoto's hands off the whole thing.
>>383292783
3 problems with the game:
1) Miyamoto and his addiction to controller gimmicks
2) Platinum and their apathy towards licensed projects
3) It was another remake that no-one was asking for
>Movement on the stick aiming on the gyro to control a more typical Starfox would have been GOAT tier and would have been able to crank up the intensity way further than the old starfox control scheme
>They decide to go full retard with the gyro and put screen specific shit in the game
All they needed to do was do splatoon and BOTW style aiming in Starfox game.
>>383295215
>ended production on anything not 90%+ completed
Why was Zero released then?
I want to like this game. I really do.
>>383294061
>another half assed Star Fox game built around another iffy gimmick (AGAIN)
>an ugly handheld multiplayer squad shooter Metroid spinoff released at the worst possible time
>a direct followup to one of the most controversial Nintendo sequels in the past decade
It's like they literally went out of their way to make games nobody wanted.
>>383296095
>No one was asking for a Star Fox 64 2
Lol.
>>383296196
>Doing something different with motion controls is bad
Seriously, git gud.
>>383295727
Bayo 2 is better than Zero meme
Now you're just being retarded. Bayonetta 2 was garbage.
>>383294061
Imagine if Ultra Smash, Mario Party 10, and Amiibo Festival had been released that same year.
>>383295040
>josh thomas
that guy is a faggot too
>there's more hype for Star Fox 2 than there was for Zero
>>383293721
Platinum only worked on visual elements, yes. People here SHOULD be blaming Nintendo/Shigeru Miyamoto for the game's faults.
>>383298009
Nintendo always get away with it, look at Other M, Team Ninja and Sakamoto
>>383297397
MP10 was fine, nigger
>>383295727
It really is really fucking odd that they would hire Platinum for visuals. I mean I'm not saying Platinum's visuals are bad, but that's not what they're known for. Such a waste of talent and shows how out of touch Nintendo was.
It was Miyamoto's gimmicks that made the game bad though
>>383299380
>the mode they showed off the most has only ten minigames and just reuses the boards from the main mode
>the only other mode is a square using amiibo
No.
>>383300030
oh wait, I was thinking of MP9
disregard
>>383294061
Isnt Fed Force good and just came out at a bad time?
>>383292783
>Implying it wasn't the motion control curse that doomed this title
FTFY
>>383294050
I never reviewed this too closely, pretty impressive how every single part of this is at least partially wrong in some way besides Mario Kart and Just Dance.
>My Rosalina
Degenerate
>Platinum was only responsible for the graphics
>that means they should be completely absolved from this trainwreck!
Need it be reminded that one of the complaints Zero received when it was revealed at E3 was the shitty graphics, and that complaint contributed to the game being delayed? Put Platinum on a pedestal all you want, that doesn't change the fact that they're a shitty company guilty of half-assing everything if given the opportunity.
>>383305907
>and that complaint contributed to the game being delayed?
The game looked like shit, but the reason it was delayed was to fix the controls.
>>383306048
Nope, objectively wrong. The game's visuals and certain gameplay elements were improved for the final release. The controls themselves were untouched.
>>383292783
Fuck you Cody.

The worst part of any Platinum game are the Space Harrier/Bullet Hell sections. Why the fuck Nintendo reached out to Platinum for SFZ is beyond me. I know Kamiya loves Star Fox, but its just not a good fit.

>>383297389
>Star Fox 64 2
That is not what Zero is and you know it. It takes the narrative exactly no-where that 64 didn't and the gameplay isn't even like 64.
No one was asking for a remake of SF64.
Why is Cody still pretending this game was good?
>>383305907
It was delayed because of the framerate issues you dumb piece of shit
>>383309080
He's so out of touch that he uses common definitions wrong, pretty funny when you think about it.
>>383292783
As someone who got good with the controls and would actually like to see the concept revisited in a different kind of game
It's still bad.
It's basically Star Fox 64 again, but slower, with less content and the content that is there is less good. For example, how the hell did the Gyro Wing end up in the final game? Did nobody play this and go "hang on, this vehicle is the opposite of fun". It makes the Blue Marine feel like a goddam roller coaster. There is literally no reason to play this over Star Fox 64.
I'm sad becuse I've always liked the chicken Walker, but this game was so panned that they'll probably never use it again.
>>383292783
a whole bunch of people turned off by the controls and then people that were willing to give it a shot discovered it didn't even do branching paths right.
Also Platinum were just brought in to help get the game out the door.
>>383292783
Fuck off underaged
>>383292783
Why the fuck does everyone complain about this games controls? The controls were fine unless you're someone who has never held a controller before. The game was still bad though, but that's because it lacks the replayability and the great level design and charm that star fox 64 had.
>>383309754
>>383309080
He also said it was a great game, if you haven't played any game before.
