I first played in 2011 on my PSP, since then I've finished it at least 5 times. I really like the plot, reminds me a lot of Goethe's Faust.

Great atmosphere offset by the hammy amd awkward early PS2 voice acting.

I got lost in town and tried to wake myself up at the diner. It caused a time paradox where we both died and I had to restart the entire game because manual saves. I just didn't feel like starting over.

It's one of the few "games" that handles a time travel mechanic decently, the eng dub is fucking atrocious though.
Outside of the dub I have a few qualms with it, the controls are pretty bad even for its time and the glacial movement speed doesn't help, a few routes(most of the endgame death endings) get so overly retarded that they end up being near comical despite the game playing them absolutely straight, the Homunculus' master plan falls apart because of literal inane casuality bullshit in some endings and once you get to the true ending and find the truth about the MC's origin you can't help but asking yourself why did they go with something so utterly stupid and convoluted.

Other than that it's fine though, and the fact that you can die in so many ways and in so many places coupled with time flowing in real time makes it a pretty nice adventure game, many of the characters in the game are also nice to talk to and have some pretty neat stories, the setting is also handled pretty well and it's nice to see how the city changes in each timeline and era.

Played it about 6 months ago i had no idea what the fuck was going on so i dropped it after i got to some medieval town
