I am about to replay ES Oblivion for the first time since I last played it 10 years ago. I plan on enjoying the original game for a bit, but I was wonder what are some 'must have mod' for this one?
I would be interested in stuff like weather, armor, spells, character creation stuff (but nothing silly)
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. The best parts of FCOM imho and relatively easy to install.

I would recommend the mod guide on tesgeneral.com, but the site seems to be down right now. save the linki and check on it later or tomorrow, it has a list of good and solid Oblivion mods and utilities.

Do it, it fixes the awkward level scaling and adds more content to the game to boot.

Have you heard of the high elves?
Why does Oblivion crash all the time?

I'll be sure to check it out.

speaking of whichwhat are some good mods for making a sweet Elf character

I remember you need script extenders and such. Also the 4gb patch. You need a lot of shit to make it run stable.

I know, but the game's impossible to mod without having to deal with crashing, stuttering and other issues. I've never played modded Oblivion longer than two hours because of this. And now I'm trying to fix it somehow.

It's been a good 6 years for me but I remember playing Oblivion relatively stable (3-4 hours w/o crashes) back in the day.
Limit the amount of mods you use, use oblivion mod organizer, a script extender, the 4gb patch and anything else that improves tability.
