This prediction actually makes a lot of sense. The PS$ launched in 2013, if this prediction was true this would give the PS4 6 years of life (the same amount of years as the PS2). Sony mentioned multiple times around the launch of the PS4 that they didn't want their new console to last as long as the PS3.
