Way late, when it came out it was discussed nonstop. I think it had a mainly positive reception.
I bought into the hype and got it, but didn't find it as good as they made it out to be. Still, I got it dirt cheap relatively close to launch; so it was worth it.

once you figure out how to abuse Alien AI, it becomes a cakewalk. Also unlike Amnesia where the enemies terrified me, when the Alien spawned i was thinking oh boy here we go again only. The game is not scary but rather just tense.

Still happy with my purchase, bought it during the summer sale. I haven't tried the DLCs yet but i will play them at once, maybe i'll try Nightmare difficulty as well (finished it on hard)

Played it on the hardest difficulty. I enjoyed it quite a bit, although I'm biased since I love the franchise. I really appreciate all the effort Creative Assembly went through to make the tech in the game as authentic to the series as possible.

My only complain is that the Xenomorph A.I. was borderline retarded most of the time.

I'm playing it for the first time with the Unpredictable Alien AI (a friend told me to do it).

I'm having a lot of fun for now.

It's pretty fun and I'm glad the Alien kills are not just shitty jumpscares.

The atmosphere and art directing is amazing. They really did hit bullseye with the visuals.

It's funny how the A.I. cheated sometimes too.

>run to the first room I can find and close the door.
>hide in the only closet in the room, wait for it to leave.

This happened to a couple of times during the second half of the game. There was only one alien in the room. So I always assumed it was a bug.

This. It dragged out a bit at the end but I fucking really enjoyed it.

The game is just a pleasure to look at. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a game's aesthetics as much as this one, which really is the entire doing of the original concept artist, since Fox provided the developer with literal terabytes of material to draw from. Love it.

And even though the AI (heh) is completely abusable, that didn't stop my Nightmare playthrough from being incredible. I think I ended the game with 1 revolver bullet, maybe one noisemaker, and nothing else. I made use of all my tools. It felt great.

The alien never instantly kills you from a vent UNLESS it was waiting in that vent (see >>383271806) and you walked right underneath it in which case it'd be irrelevant whether you sprinted or not.
In every other case, the Alien has to make its ways through the vents, drop out of a vent, and THEN attacks you ; but it won't just hit you from within the vent when you're outside.

I stopped using the motion detector since it does fuckall when you know the A.I. Just hear it come down, pop behind a table and keep moving. Pretty fluent game after that.
